National Newspapers
- The Financial Times have announced plans to cease sports coverage as of 14th February following ongoing cutbacks at the newspaper. The title intend to continue covering sports business and will retain one sports column authored by Simon Kuper, which will feature on Saturdays. Regional Newspapers - People Moves
- At the Journal Series (Carmarthen), Acting Editor Cathryn Ings has been appointed to hold the post of Editor. Cathryn can be reached at cathryn.ings@swwmedia.co.uk
- At the Newbury Weekly News Series, Chief Sub Editor David Wynne Jones retired on 30th January. He also covered property, which Katherine Broomfield is now responsible for and can be contacted at katherine.broomfield@newburynews.co.uk. There is no replacement Chief Sub Editor. - On 2nd February Bede MacGowan started her new post as Editor of Llanelli Star Series, parent title of Llanelli Star and West Wales Tribune
Frequency Changes

Stops and Starts
- Egmont is to launch Ben 10, a magazine published every three weeks covering the adventures of children’s animated hero Ben Tennyson, on 18th February. The title will be aimed at five to eleven year old boys and will include comic strips, puzzles and activity pages
- Conde Nast have announced Love, a new twice-yearly fashion and style magazine aimed at lovers of fashion, style and culture, is to launch on 19th February. Katie Grand, former Editor-in-Chief of Pop magazine, has been named as Editor-in-Chief for the new title
People Moves
- Geordie Greig is to leave his post as Editor of Conde Nast title Tatler with no successor appointed as yet. He is expected to move to The Evening Standard where he will replace Editor Veronica Wadley. Dates for both changes are yet to be announced

- Archant Life titles NorthWest Magazine, Angel Magazine and North Magazine are relocating this week to Avon House, Kensington Village, Avonmore Road, London W14 8TS
Stops and Starts
- Conde Nast Publications Ltd is to launch a new magazine in April. Wired will feature new ideas, innovations and trends in technology, science, social science and culture. All press releases can be sent to wired.pr@condenast.co.uk

- Nature: International Weekly Journal of Science recently appointed Richard van Noorden as Assistant News Editor. Richard joins the title from his role as Acting Editor of Chemistry World
- Acting Editor Richard van Noorden recently departed Chemistry World, the publication of the Royal Society of Chemistry. The title is expected to announce the appointment of a new Editor in mid-February. During the interim Dr James Mitchell Crow, previously Science Correspondent, has taken over Richard’s responsibilities as Acting Editor
National Broadcast
- BBC Daytime have announced Fiona Bruce is to present 15 episodes of Priceless Antiques Roadshow. It will air weekdays at 6.30pm on BBC Two from Monday 9 March 2009 for three weeks. Controller of BBC Daytime Liam Keelan said: "The Antiques Roadshow is such an immensely popular show with viewers that it seemed the perfect time to delve into its incredible archive and revisit some of the fascinating finds over the last 30 years."
- As of last week The Business Channel, an channel for today’s entrepreneurs, has suspended broadcasting. It showcased individual and commercial success stories, historic and contemporary business trends across the world, cultural influences in business, as well as the challenges of starting up, sustaining and growing a business
